Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll. « less

I loved this densely packed collection of alfresco eateries with its variety and great location. I laughed at my Danish friends telling me that the only people that eat there are tourists. So be it, it was a great place to find something to eat. More

We spent two afternoons wandering Nyhavn and I wish we had time to go again and again! The colours, the bistros, the boats, street performers, everything... it all says "Copenhagen". More

Really nice to walk down the canal on a sunny day and see tourists and locals eating and drinking. All the canalside cafés are full, and people like to just sit on the edge of the canal wall drinking beer and eating pizza. For an actual meal though, I would probably head elsewhere. We ate here twice and neither meal... More

Copenhagen is a smooth and easy-going City but the crowds gather at NyHaven. It is still nice, but wandering away can also be a good choice. More

A lot of small cafés, restaurants and bars - all with outdoor seating right next to the beautiful little old port. When you enjoy the sun, the atmosphere you can watch everybody that passes by !!! More

Definitely my favourite. Extremely vibrant (and touristy). Visited once two years ago and I liked it so much that I came back for a second time. Please do go for the canal tour. Definitely worth the time (1hour) and money (DKK70) to see the essence of Copenhagen. 50% off with CPH card - even better!! More
