It is a heavy building built by the architect Thovald Jørgensen - the old parts by the architect C.F.Hansen The gobelins telling the danish history are wonderfull visit also the queens kitchen - old and amazing.. The church and Thovaldsens museum is worth a visit too. More

We had a Copenhagen Card and viewed both the Palace and the ancient ruins beneath it on the card. The Palace doesn't look that amazing from the outside, compared to the beauty of other buildings in Europe, but once you are inside you are transformed to a truely Royal world and experience. Small museum in one part of palace. Didn't have time to go in but would like to do so on another visit. Large open square, watch the changing of the guards wearing Bearskins. More

This is the first sight we visited on our visit. You walk through mostly empty elaborately gilded rooms and there is an art gallery in an amazing grand hall More

Serves as the parliament today so it might be difficult to get inside. Go to the backside of the castle for beautiful view. Nearby is Thorvaldsens Museum, The Supreme Court, Tøjhusmuseet and Holmens Church. More
