The rooms were very nice, but it is mostly empty rooms with pictures and tapestries. You don't get a reals sense of how the rooms were or are used. It would have been nice if there were arrows to follow or a map; we had to double back to get rooms I knew we'd missed. We reached a point where... more

This palace is a must see in Copenhagen. It is the seat of the government; the monarch doesn't live here but uses it for official functions. The Parliment is in a different part of the palace. I visited Christiansborg and went to the Queens reception rooms for the English guided tour. The tour was excellent, the guide made it really super interesting pointing out the better paintings and tapestries and making them seem much better than if you just went around alone with a guide book. I visited the castle a few days after it had snowed, which added to the romanticism you expect from castles. The complex is made of several different buildings with a neo-baroque centrepiece.
