Passed by this place when I was on my way to Christiania (what a contrast). The design itself is very interesting. So is the story behind the designer. More

Having read a travel guide about the tower, we knew that we were in for about 400 stairs to the top. However, it is very important to note the the stairs starting about halfway up are extremely steep and can be terribly hard to navigate, especially when you have people coming down while you are trying to go up. As one of the few tall structures in Copenhagen, this is THE place to go for a view of the city and harbor. But the climb is not easy, not even the interior portion of it. Specifically, many of the higher inside steps are steep and shallow, requiring strong quads and careful (sideways) footing even going back down. The exterior... More

Check ahead to see if the spire is open. If it is, this is a worthwhile visit. The climb is not for the fainthearted or unfit, but we loved the views of the city from the top. It was interesting to see the tower from the inside and to walk past the bells, etc. The sanctuary itself is lovely with... More

The church interior is beautiful. but climbing the spire takes your breath away - literally. You cannot be afraid of heights and need to be in good physical shape. The wind is quite strong and makes climbing the outside steps challenging and more scary. If there are people at the top, it is more frightening because you have to manuever... More

The spire of this church can be seen from all over Copenhagen. At first, it merely looks like a corkscrewed spiral. I asked my tour guide about it, and she informed me that the spiral actually features an outdoor staircase that leads up to the top. Once I heard that, I knew I had to go there and climb it.... More
