A private home (very rich family) in an old palace building in the center of Stockholm. Worth spending a couple of hours. More

This museum, or house, is very interesting because everything is saved as it used to be back when it was inhabited. It's a very beautiful building! More

Late 19th century house of much splendor, where no expense was spared. Only lived in for about 30 years, and all the contents original and looking as good as new. Countess con Hallwyn was an obsessive, who collected everything, and her cataloging was printed and is in world great libraries. Truly a time capsule, but also a fine lesson in... More

We took the English tour with the one of the curator's of the museum. She gave us in depth explanations about this wonderful collection. We were escorted in to private rooms, not open to the general public. She also recommended that we visit Skokloster Castle which was another fasinating experience. More

I agree with previous reviewers, the one drawback is that a lot of the house is only available if you take the guided tour and few of these are in English. We were there in winter and got there before opening time but there was already a large crowd waiting. I can only give it an average rating because it's... More

Even if the house can be a nice place, a home built by a local Rockefeller, similar with Casa Mila in Barcelona, giving you a flavor of the life in a rich family less than two hundred years ago, it disappointed us by the place at a museum. If you take a guided tour you can see everything but you... More

Taken here by my Stockholm friend - amazing find - everything in it was collected by the lady who left it to the nation - there are beautiful dresses she wore and glass cases full of tiny personal items like cake decorations from birthday cakes and toys and glasses and she documented everything she had - there is even a... Yesterday I visited the beautiful yard of Hallwyl Museum. There is now an installation made of artists of Inuti, a Stockholm cooperative of Outsider Art [-]. The installation will be there only one week, so I hope a lot of people hurry to the museum not to miss it. The installation consists of four pictures of gateways, printed on flag... More
