Sweden should be a country of free, tolerant people. Concerning jews Swedes in genral is not better than other Europeans. However without real progromes some Swedes succeded to be exemples to all of us. At the Synagogue you will be able to lear more about it.

This is a beautiful synagogue and the guide that was there who described the history and current status of the community is excellent. Very worth the time to visit. Tip is to find out ahead of your visit when the scheduled tours are...it is exceptional.

The Great Synagogue of Stockholm is a beautiful building, inside and outside. It is well worth a visit regardless of one's religion. Tours can be scheduled Monday-Thursday. There is security on the premises. The congregation is warm and welcoming. The current rabbi is from Israel and does not as yet speak Swedish. His sermon was in English and there are...

We found this by chance on our half-day visit to Stockholm during our Baltic Cruise. There are guided tours taking place at specific times, and we were there at just the right time. Really glad we included this in our visit, as it was interesting to sit in the beautiful building and hear about its history. It's of particular interest...
