Definitely check out Kulturhuset. Seems like there is always something going on. Several cafes to choose from and always busy but decent prices.

We hoped it would be like the Barbican in London with similar facilities but were surprised to find that all the bars/cafes in the thetre closed at 7pm.

Kulturhuset is quite in the center of Stockholm and a very nice place to hang out and relax from all those lang walks in gamla stan (the old town) and shopping at dröttningsgatan.

Decent food and prices, good views over the centre. There is also a buffet salad and pasta bar, as well as free coffee.

Kulturhuset houses a theatre, art exhibition space, a library, a children's library and several cafés. This is an easy place to go to when you're with young children who are fed up with the city, the children's library on the 4:th floor has a great space to play around, read books (in other languages than swedish too), play boardgames etc....
