We attended a ballet while in Stockholm, and it was great. The acoustics of the hall were great as was the paintings on the ceilings. More

Seeing a performance at the Royal opera House is a real treat. From the moment you enter the foyer and ascend the staircase it is like stepping into a by gone age.The auditorium with gilt, plush red velvet, chandelier and Royal Box is an intimate space entered by numerous small doorways. Unfortunately on the night we were there the queue for... More

The Opera is elegant in an old world style with red upholstery and gleaming chandeliers in the break rooms. We watch the Wagner Opera Lohengrin in a modern and minimalist production. More

This was a beautiful opera house with a first-rate opera company. The only thing is that they don't have subtitles in English! Prague's opera house offers English subtitles... More

A most wonderful Opera house, with amazing history. In the 1700's King Gustaf III was killed here during a masked ball, and still today you can enjoy fantastic operas and ballets. The Royal family has its own box, but everybody can get nice seats and enjoy a glass in the intermission. Since the Opera house is located in the vicinity... More

I often attend the Royal Opera and once you enter into the impressive hall with the beautiful staircase you get into opera mood. The Golden hall is stunning and the views over Stockholm and the Royal castle from the balcony outside I have seen many excellent productions the latest La Fanciulla del West which was brilliant. As part of a birthday weekend in Stockholm we had tickets for Bizet's Carmen at Stockholm Opera House. Despite the new Opera Houses in Copenhagen and Oslo, there is something magical about the old building in Stockholm. Coats can be left on each floor at the Garderob for a small fee and interval drinks and snacks pre-ordered. The production of... More
