This mine is seriously pretty impressive. I went with my friend who lives near Falun and she suggested we should go have a look there. Price is a bit expensive though, about 200 crowns, but that is f you want to really go down the mine with a tour guide. Before we entered the mine we had to take on... More

I visited the mine while working in Falun and had a really fun time. I’m a geologist by education so things like this really interest me anyway and I always find mines fascinating. The guided tour (in English) was interesting and informative, and reasonably priced considering your location and the cost of upkeep of the mine. Tour groups were small... More

We had planned to buy tickets for the tour next day but the guide convinced us to do the eveningtour in the mine. It was a great tour, the guide told a lot of historical stories and showed a personal intressed in the copper mine and what it has ment for the country More

Very atmospheric. Great guide, who also managed to keep the younger ones interested. Also impossible not to let the mind wander off to the mines of Moria when walking through the huge shafts. More

Exelent guided tour of the Falu Coppermine. Awsome guides. Wear warm clothes though, it's pretty cold down in the mine that was the backbone of the Swedish economy during the 13th to the 16th century. It funded all the Swedish wars in Europe and the rest of the Swedish economy together with the Sala Silver mine in Sala, Uppland. More

Found this a fascinating place to visit, with there being so many interesting sites around the city and then the museum and mine itself. The mine tour was the highlight, and also helped put the city sites into context, and the guide we had was informative, interesting and made the history come alive. One note - wear sensible footwear! There... More

This attrection, you shouldn't miss when in Falun. Besides the very interesting museum, the main attraction is of course to descend into the old mine. The guides are very informative and the lighting and displays down in the mine is a very interesting visit. Be prepared however, it is cold in the mine so dress properly. Boots, helmet and a... More
