Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Valby out-door museum is a friendly and wellplanned showroom of Swedish buildings and life a couple of generations back. It is brought to life by youngsters acting as inhabitants of the buildings. Some common farming animals are also seen grazing. Spend a sunny halfday to day here! And ... no charge for parking or admission. There is both restaurant and café on the premises. The grocery store is one of our favourites.

Awesome place to visit! Educational, emotional and relaxing. I recommend to go on foot by the river from Vasteras.

Stopped here while doing a little road trip in sweden, glad we did as it was a great place to visit. Nice to see what people used to love like in Sweden many years ago, very quiet and peaceful place so was nice to have a walk around. Cafe was really nice

Great swedish food and plenty of it. Accomodations for family or group setting. Owners and staff are extremely pleasent. They know how to prepare good home cooked food. A true gem of a restaurant.

Simply: just go! A very nice Christmas market. With some luck also snow is lying down and it will be the perfect place to visit with the family. Nice Caffè inside.

Vallby is a perfect place for families with kids, the kids are love the animals around the park. I believe this is a place you must go if you are going through Västerås even more so if you have younger kids.

Buidings that take you back to what Sweden must have been like in the 15th/16th century with their red finish and thick wooden walls to keep the cold out

This outdoor museum has a lot to offer. From historical buildings to animals, to food and coffee, to a local silversmith and a very nice pottery. They offer guided tours from time to time but you can also explore it on your own.

Old Swedish farm houses and also nearly extinct Swedish animals, e.g,.sheep, pigs, rabbits etc. Enjoy the area close to the river Svartån ("the Black River") and have a lunch or coffee at the Restaurant. Especially be there at the Midsummer celebrations.
