THe sense of space and fresh air just hits you. Good restaurants, fresh seafood in the summer. I suppose I have the advantage of having family out there to stay with. Love it More

Every time we have foreign guest who stay more than one day we take them to the Southern Goteborg Archipelago. You do not need to be a Swede to enjoy these islands rugged charm. The largest islands are Asperö (closest to the mainland), Brännö, Köpstadsö, Styrsö, Donsö and Vrångö (all the island end with the letter ö which means island... More

Easy to get there, take a tram south and then hop off and on the little ferries onto quiet, beautiful islands. The ferries have little cafes and loos. . but in February the islands don't! the wooden houses are just perfect More

We travelled to Gothenburg during the new year period and found most of the attractions were closed. We decided to try this trip for ourselves. Buy a day transport pass, hop on tram 11 until the last stop at Saltholmen, walk 150m to the ferry terminal and hop on :). The ferries have a little cafe for tea etc. Fantastic... More

I live here! So it's not your typical travel review. But I welcome you to visit the islands. In the summer, there are art galleries, beaches, and good restaurants, in the winter we offer amazing walks on newly developed tracks on two islands, good restaurants and the chance to get close to a stormy sea (at no risk). Here's a... More

Enjoy the beautiful islands at the Swedish archipelago near Gothenburg. Hönö is accessible thru a free ferry. Take your time to just relax looking the landscape, specially during summer when the sun is up until midnight and there is much natural light. More

Accessing the Islands was far easier than we had imagined - a case of catching the no. 11 tram which runs regularly ( every 10 mins in the day) and take about 25 mins from the tram stops in the City to reach Saltholmen where the trams terminate. A very short walk from the tram station is the ferry station.... More
