Easy to get there, take a tram south and then hop off and on the little ferries onto quiet, beautiful islands. The ferries have little cafes and loos. . but in February the islands don't! the wooden houses are just perfect

We travelled to Gothenburg during the new year period and found most of the attractions were closed. We decided to try this trip for ourselves.
Buy a day transport pass, hop on tram 11 until the last stop at Saltholmen, walk 150m to the ferry terminal and hop on :).
The ferries have a little cafe for tea etc.

Enjoy the beautiful islands at the Swedish archipelago near Gothenburg. Hönö is accessible thru a free ferry. Take your time to just relax looking the landscape, specially during summer when the sun is up until midnight and there is much natural light.

Accessing the Islands was far easier than we had imagined - a case of catching the no. 11 tram which runs regularly ( every 10 mins in the day) and take about 25 mins from the tram stops in the City to reach Saltholmen where the trams terminate.
A very short walk from the tram station is the ferry station....
