I self-drove to Jokulsarlon Lagoon from Reykjavik. It took about 5 hours (one way) because I stopped at the two main waterfalls are visible from the road. The first waterfall is easy to locate as you travel toward Jokulsarlon but you can easily drive pass the second waterfall because it 's nestled by a hillside facing West. If you miss... more

I went with Grayline Iceland Excursion on their South Coast & Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon day tour. The boat ride in the lagoon was amazing, floating next to gigantic ice blocks was breathtaking. The volcanic dust covered iceberg floating on clear deep blue colored water was just magical and dreamlike. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. more

Jokulsarlon Lagoon is a must-see in southern Iceland. We were fortunate to be there on a rainy day which turned all the icebergs floating in the lagoon a beautiful bright blue. It was well worth the price to take the boat ride into the actual lagoon although you can still get some great pics from the parking lot. more

The excursion is pricey* but it includes the cost of the boat ride and it's a pretty long haul there and back from Reykjavik. You probably wouldn't want to... more

Absolutely the most beautiful thing in Iceland. The icebergs are just beautiful and so natural. We arrived there at 9pm and there was not a single person in sight, very surreal experience. Drive the kms to go see it, you will not regret it. more

While in Iceland, we took a roadtrip from the eastern to western coast, going along the southern coast. Our final destination was Jokulsarlon, or the Glacier Lagoon. It is about 4-5 hours driving from the capital, Reykjavik, and well worth the trip. It was one of the most beautiful sites either of us had seen. Since we drove ourselves rather... more
