Aka Golden Falls, this is huge double tiered waterfall that is probably the most touristed waterfall, easily drive from Reykjavik. We did a Golden route circle and stayed over the nearby Hotel Gullfoss for a day. We spent the evening walking around Gullfoss. More

This was my second trip to Gullfoss and it was just as great the second time around, you get some great views and its truly an awe inspiring sight, the canteen here is really really good, try to plan it so you have lunch there, its warm and cosy, with free internet and award winning lamb soup! The drive from Reykjavik was amazing with dramatic scenery and snow covered roads yet when we arrived at Gullfoss the waterfalls were absolutely stunning.
