We drove to Husavik from Akureyri and got there shortly before 10, thus barely missing the 10 o’clock departure for whale watching. My kids were really excited about visiting the whale museum, my 8 year old had more patience and interest than my 4 year old but that is only to be expected. The only center dedicated to the study and appreciation of whales. Loads of information about many different species of whales in Icelandic waters, skeletons and skulls of whales, and the history of whaling in the area. A heartfelt exhibition which's educational and arty. More
