It's a marvel from the outside but nothing spectacular on the inside. The view is nice but you get a better one from the top of Hallgrimskirkja. They have a very nice, very expensive restaurant on the top floor and some overpriced souvenir shops and snack bar. Skip the inside and just walk the grounds. They even have a man... more

If you are taking public transport it is a hike to get to the Perlan. The fake gysir is also hokey, especially if you have seen the real thing. However, the view of downtown is nice and inside there is a tasty ice cream parlor. There is a restaurant there as well, but all I have head is the food... more

I'm glad we got to check out the Pearl. The view of the city from here is good, but I wouldn't call it a "must see". The museum is quite good if you are interested in wax figures and history. The building itself is really pretty and makes a bold impression on the skyline. more

The beautiful domed structure called The Pearl is set above a series of huge hot water tanks and topped by a cafeteria with excellent food with a revolving gourmet restaurant above. The interior space is massive and houses concerts and other events along with a Viking Saga Museum. The building has become an icon of the Reykjavik skyline and is... more

We Stayed at the Loftledir hotel which was nearby...the trek up was more like a nature walk and we essentially didnt know what to expect because it is not well publicised. The first thing we noticed was the mock geezer (Sp?) outside that bubbled up and spat out water which gave you a sense of how one works if like... more

We went to the Pearl for a drink (not to the restaurant, but to the cafeteria downstairs), on a Sunday afternoon. You have a beautiful view of Reykjavik and the surrounding area and this alone is a very strong reason to go there. But to be honest, having read loads of reviews previously, I was expecting the restaurant itself to... more

I was at The Pearl by myself, as I chose a nice solo trip to Iceland to enjoy the beautiful country. I've visited many fine dining establishments worldwide and wasn't sure what to expect within the confines of Iceland's culinary roots. I really enjoyed the location and I was one of the first tables served that day. The views were... more

Loved the Perlan. Ate quite late (9pm) and took us two hours to leisurely wade through the courses which very neatly allowed the restaurant to revolve completely. Service was unhurried but pleasant. A wonderfully rich Lobster soup to start with followed by cod, then Veal. Creme Brulee to finish. Booking is advised as it is very popular and it isn't... more

We ate at the perlan on out last night. we booked our table (near the window) a few days before. we also managed to fall lucky, there was an offer on, £40 for 3 courses! we made the effort and all dressed up in evening wear as we had been advised to. but we were annoyed to see other people... more

Great food, lovely view you can see the whole city in 2 hours as the restaurant revolves. We were in Reykjavik on honeymoon and decided to treat ourselves to a swanky night out and the perlan really delivers. The fresh fish specialities were terrific the salt cod dish was particularly good. Excellent friendly service throughout the meal made this a... more
