This was a very good museum. Exhibits were beautifully presented and well thought through. Wish we had more time here.

Historically quite interesting, but too many of the ancient books were only reproductions. Very friendly staff, and because it was Wednesday it was free, so go on a Wednesday!

Wow soup and bread was a wonderful lunch!!! Gosh hearty sopus need to make a come back this was a real find,oh and the museum was auite interesting as well!!!

great place to go if you are intrerested in history, the icelandic saga's are here as are lots of other interesting artifacts.

Place of the Icelandic Sagas with lots of the original documents on display. So somewhat similar to Magna Carta or the Bayeux Tapestry. If you are into it then it is an excellent museum. Be warned that not all displays are translated and many only available in Icelandic.

The Culture House, located in the beautiful former National Library, is dedicated to the medieval history of the country. The descriptions of the events are smartly done giving enough information without overwhelming the visitor. Dand978 pretty much said it all. I've been there last week and finished looking at the exhibits in under an hour.
The exhibits for the ancient viking scripts weren't available during my visit.
On the 4th Floor are film exhibits with chairs for you to sit down and watch some old Iceland films, which are worth checking out.

There are multiple exhibits here including some original sagas and a piece on Icelandic film. Both are worth checking out extensively.
