One reason for our visit to Luxembourg was to go to the American World War II cemetery, a few miles outside the city. We had a taxi driver who spoke English fluently; he waited for us while we visited the visitors' center and the cemetery itself. Like all military cemeteries, it is immaculate, though the grave of General Patton receives... More

I have visited this cemetery since arriving in Europe in 1976. All of our visitors have been significantlly moved by a visit to Hamm. It is an impeccably maintained memorial (as are all of the American cemeteries), the sense of history is gripping. The staff are a wealth of information, all Americans should make this a visit. An aside, there... More

We were fortunate to stop in the office. Joy the Assistant Superintendent was a font of information. She spent 30 minutes with us, I only wish we could have spent more time with her. More

I was blown away by the beauty of this place. I could have stayed all day. Even though it's a bus ride and kind of a walk, I would recommend visiting to anyone. Don't miss it. More

The cemetery is the final resting place of over 5,000 American soldiers, known and unknown and is the site where General George S. Patton Jr., general of the 3rd army is buried according to his wishes. It is also the resting place of five members portrayed in the HBO series "Band of Brothers". At the time of our visit 03May12,... More

This is rather a daunting place - it is kept in amazing condition - a fitting place to remember the Americans who fought to liberate Luxembourg, and paid the ultimate price. Its close to Luxembourg airport. More

As a history buff, I decided to make the trip to Luxembourg to pay tribute. Walking into the cemetery is quite loud, you walk along a busy street and near a freeway, but once you arrive to the cemetery all noise cease to exist. It's a beautiful well kept cemetery, as I walked through I had chills running through my... More

I traveled to Luxembourg with my boyfriend (who is in the military) and a couple (also military). This place was solemn and peaceful and I really felt that walking through it all together was a bonding experience. It turns out that all of our grandparents had served in WWII so we all shared stories as we roamed among the headstones.... More
