There is an old church and a bigger new one. it is the old one that is worth looking at, and make sure you visit the catacomb below, entrance is outside the church at the back. More

This small little church is surrounded by areas of historical significance. One of the most interesting being the pillar that Paul was said to have whipped at. Very quaint inside also. More

The church is alongside an area of archeological interest - you can trace the remains of a very large early church with some of the mosaic floors still showing. You need to hire a car to get to it, but well worth the trouble if you are interested in religious icons etc. It has wonderful wall paintings and makes a good comparison on a full days drive up to the Kiko Monastery. If you only want to do the bus tour instead (which I can’t say is good or... More

definitely worth a visit, only problem the drive there as it is realy far. Best to combine it with a day on the mountains, otherwise easier to visit a smaller monastery like the ayio neofyto More

this is a particularly beautiful and peaceful monastery; after a nightmare drive in the mountains it was a panacea to the soul! What a lovely place to come for a retreat. More
