The scenic view from the top and the trip by cable car give us a good impression

We only went to Untersberg by bus and then up the cable car to the mountain top. Spectucular views. It was snowing at the top which was awesome. Don't miss it but go early before the crowds arrive.

This was a perfect half day excursion. Moderate amount of hiking and more if you wish. Need warm clothes and good hiking shoes. Get the Salzburg card it definitely pays off.

The view from the top is absolutely amazing. Went during May and there was still snow at the top so was fun to trek through the snow. Need to do this on a clear day - we had a beautiful sunny day and it was warm even in the snow. Get the Salzburg Card to save the €21 fee - although worth it anyway.

Liked the fact that it's location so close to Salzburg means one can within a space of a few hours experience both an urban environment in the historic center of the city and in Untersberg, the alpine scenery and climate.

It was a good excursion. Take the bus 25 from Mirabell Gardens or outside the old town and about 25 mins later you are at the Untersberg Cable Car ascent point (on the way you pass Hellbrunn).
