I am not a fan of Austria in general probably because I visited Switzerland first. However this attraction came up to expectations and I enjoyed my time there. It is an amazing drive with hair pin bends so choose a clear day and try it.

the most amazing trip. make sure you go on a clear day and have plenty of time( a few hours) to walk down to the glacier and enjoy the experience. there is a multistory car park at the top but the cars have to park somewhere. Travel by post bus if possible then everyone can enjoy the views!

We spent 5 hours driving the Grossglockner Alpine Highway with frequent stops. It seemed there was a "must do" photo opportunity around every curve and hairpin bend in the road. From the barren, snowy mountain peaks to the green, molded valleys, it was a beautiful and awe inspiring experience. And a fun drive!

Austria's highest mountain. For a road access (Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse) you have to pay a fee. The fee is quite high, I paid 28 euros per car (that fee includes parking and admission to the museum).
