We had the most wonderful time skiing in Mayrhofen and the surrounding mountains. We are fairly good skiiers (ski mostly red and blacks) and we didn't run out of slopes after skiing for an entire week! The slopes are upkept very nicely and are for the most part wide and comfortable. The food on the slopes and off is much... More

Do go there in the summer as well as the winter, it is so scenic. The train ride to Jenbach on the steam train is great and the scenery is out of this world. We stayed in the chalet Tirol. right in the centre of town.It was small and basic, but clean and the food was very good. The girls who... More

We have now visited Mayrhofen 5 times in 10 years and we have never been sorry. Mayrhofen has plenty of activities and the most beautiful scenery. We advise purchasing a Ziller card which cost us 51 Euros for 6 days this card can be used on the local train and bus service as much as you want and also you... More

We spent nearly a month driving through the Tirol, staying in various towns and villages for 3-4 nights each, and Mayrhofen was probably our favorite. Not only is it located at the bottom of 4 valleys providing access to the Zillertaler Alps (Tuxertal, Zemmtal, Stilluppgrund and Zillergrund), it's also an easy drive to Krimml Falls. So Mayrhofen makes for a... More

I went to Hippach/Mayrhofen from 27 December 2010 to 1 January 2011, and I have to say we were really happy with both the town we picked for our stay and the general skiing area. Depending on the number of days you buy a ski pass for you get one for the whole area including Hintertux Gletscher which we didn't... More

Spent a week in Mayrhofen with husband and two children (14 and 6) - they all had lessons/went to ski school with SMT whom I can't recommend highly enough. Both children (previously non skiers) ended up confident and happy on red runs and husband enjoyed company of blonde instructress (skiing improved slightly)! Plenty skiing for me to do on my... More

Their guidance is bad, they don't give you comments, you just ski behind and hope not to loose the guide, they were rude and their service was awful when we had problem.we didn't get our money back. there are many other schools there, like skischool mayrhofen which were nice, so don't go there!!!

Mayrhofen offers everything for an enjoyable holiday. Walkers and climbers are spoilt for choice with five different valleys spreading out from the village, gentle walking to hard snow and ice ventures. Skiers also, with all year skiing at Hintertux and during the season a vast selection of runs to suit all grades. But best of all, the local folk! You... More
