Mayrhofen offers everything for an enjoyable holiday. Walkers and climbers are spoilt for choice with five different valleys spreading out from the village, gentle walking to hard snow and ice ventures. Skiers also, with all year skiing at Hintertux and during the season a vast selection of runs to suit all grades. But best of all, the local folk! You... more

No: Feb 7th: Long queues to Penken bahn but queing time was still quite short. About 20 minutes. Penkenbahn takes you up to the... more

Just returned from Mayrhofen in feb 09. I have to say the resort itself is superb, plenty of varied bars, restaurants and shops. The ski area is varied and challenging for all levels of ability, the lift pass covers most of the neighbouring resorts and is accessed through a efficient bus and train service. Were it falls down is the... more

My brother and I have visited Mayrhofen several times over the past 20 years in the Summer months and keep coming back for more. The walking is fantastic, from gentle strolls to mountaineering and the facilities for all ages have developed really well over the years. The Kramerwirt hotel would be the hotel of choice, but we now hire a... more

Couldn't be happier. I have been going there on and off over the last 20 years and with my wife over the last 11 years - more often than not staying in the Strass. Great place, great food, great facilities. The excellent old Freelax has been replaced with the new which is absolutely wonderful. We have been before, over and... more

We were in Mayrhofen the week before Christmas. The town is lovely; very atmospheric in the lead up to Christmas. There was plenty of snow once you took the Penken or the Ahorn lifts up to the slopes. Snowboarders found plenty to occupy themselves for a week. Ski teaching was excellent and there were several nice gentle blue runs for... more

We arrived back from Mayrhofen a couple of days ago - fantastic place! I have been ski-ing for many years and I highly rate Mayrhofen out of them all. There is great skiing, particularly for intermediates - a big 2.5 km red run all the way back into town. Bit of a leg burner but amazing views and great achievement!!... more

Mayrhofen has excleent skiing there are so many places to ski on the one pass that you will not get board with doing the same run again and again. The main left gets rather busy but if you use it around 8.30 or after 11 you will not have to wait. more

Mayrhofen is out of this world with great sking and a night life to contened the big resorts of val'd'sere and meribel. In my stay in mayrhofen at "The Rose" hotel i found myself waking up in the most beautiful scenery that is Mayrhofen. That morning we went sking up the penken but the cable car from Mayrhofen gets ever... more
