This is aimed at coach parties of foreigners who are ignorant about classical music. A very small orchestra plays "sound bites" .of mainly Struass waltzes. The evening is not improved by second-rate singers.The sight of elderly dancers who should have retired at least 10 years ago prancing in front of the stage for no reason is risible.

At about 90 minutes long, this concert provides a good sample of the music of the great composers Strauss and Mozart. This venue is outstanding, a truely spectacular and palatial room, filled with music lovers from around the world, all of whom truely appreciated how special it was to be in the presence of such professional musicians . This place has packed so many chairs (all tied together) into this space that it is truly a fire hazard. I can't believe Vienna's city and fire officials haven't closed down this place. There appear to be doors only on one side of the hall and heaven forbid there was a fire and everyone tried to flee through those doors... More

We were deeply disappointed with the concert at the Kursalon. The performance was a little on the "cheesy" side. The place was full of tourists that came by the busloads, mainly Asians. We did not at all care for the whole experience. Skip the Kursalon and go to the Vienna State Opera instead.

We visited the Kursalon for the first time in December 2005 and again September 2007 and then again May 2010 and every time we enjoyed it tremendously. Just the thought that Johann Strauss himself performed there is so wonderful. The performances is very good and it is highly recommended from my side.
