Gustav Klimt......need I say more! No picture brings to life this masterpiece, must see
The Secession Building itself is avant garde and caused a sensation when it was built because no one had ever seen a building like it before. Inside is Klimt's Beethoven Frieze, which is a must see for Klimt fans. It is too bad that parts of the frieze are missing.
I was slightly disappointed that the other galleries were closed when I was able to visit, but the fresco is worth the visit. The building itself is well worth seeing too!
Having read a lot about this building and the secession movement, and being excited to see some great Klimts, my wife and I were disappointed. First, the admission price was very high. Second, there was very little to see. The Klimts murals in the basement were uninspiring. Even if there was no admission fee, i would beonlyso-so on this. If...

You don't even have to go inside (there is quite an expensive entrance fee, I hear) to enjoy this building. The exterior alone is worth the visit.
The bottom line is that the €8,50 fee to enter the Secession Building is really to view Klimt's Beethoven frieze. It is the only artwork in the lone permanent exhibit here. While it is very good, didn't feel the need to see all Klimt's works, and would've given the inside a miss. As for the temporary exhibit, would consider this...

The building itself is beautiful, but you can see it from the outside without paying nothing. Inside, the only interesting thing is the pannel Beethoven Frieze, a masterpiece of Klimt. It is really beautiful, I stayed half an hour just looking at it. However, the other expos are ridiculous, in one room there were four chairs and a projector showing...

First of all, there are tons of museums in Vienna. There are better museums to see, but this one was nice when we visited. There was only one modern exhibit that I would say is worth seeing. The main reason for the attraction is the Klimt and I was not disappointed. If you are not a Klimt fan, you could...

Rather go to the Belvedere! The current exhibition is of - nothing! No value at all. Yes, the Beethoven frieze is great, but rather enjoy the building from the outside: there is more art there - even the script on the foundation-stone has more style! The staff are unfriendly, even surly, and we realized the reason for the high entry-fees...

Disappointed as to how little there is to see here (I guess we did not do our research). If you want to see several pieces from Klimt don't come here...unless you absolutely want to see his one and only display, the Beethoven Frieze. The fresco is certainly a beautiful piece of work.
