among the many delicacies that can be found here, I must say that one stop shop for me is always represented by dried fruits. Well, this is actually availble in most of the shops, but...wait: there is a booth owned by a Persian guy, that has something different. Instead of offering prepacked quantities (hygenically of course better) he offers the... more

Do-An was terrific. I also heard and read great thinks about the Naschmarkt Deli, the Indian Pavillion, and Mr. Lee. more

This is a great find in Vienna. It is just southwest of the center, near Karlsplatz. The market goes on for blocks, with many food stands, stores and restaurants. You can eat inside or out. The food is beautifully displayed. There is Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Vietnamese, Japanese, Austrian food and many more options. We chose a little Wurst stand near... more

I moved from Vienna to Perth, Australia a few years ago, and reading about the Naschmarkt still makes me feel homesick like crazy. It is one of the most curious places in the world right in the heart of the city. Take the metro to the Karlsplatz station, when you pop out at the right exit on a sunny spring... more

Naschmarkt is best known for its flea market, but note that particularly in spring and summer this place is also one of the top spots for locals to chill outside having a cold one and/or a meal with friends in one of the bars and eateries. The good thing about Naschmarkt is that it attracts all sorts of people --... more

We slept at a cheap budget hotel. Was pretty okay except for the meager breakfast. We were not expecting much but just one piece of milk bread, butter and jam was pretty extreme. So we set off to look for more food before beginning our adventure for the day.Went to Naschmarkt to look for Palatschihinkenkuchl which was mentioned in the summarized version of... more

I think all the other reviews describe the Nashmarkt nicely. My recommendation would be to avoid a Saturday if possible because the place is absolutely packed. Also, the further you get away from the Ring the prices tend to get a little cheaper so don't jump at the first stall you see. On Saturdays you do get the flea market,... more

I visited on a rainy Saturday. Crowded, but according to my local guide (best friend) this was nothing compared to a sunny weekend. We ate at a Asian bistro. We had the soup. Fantastic, considering it was situated amongst the street vendors. The selection of produce, spices, cheeses, meats, teas were remarkanble, and I definitely think I'd frequent the place... more

The Naschmarkt is a wonderful assault on the senses - the displays in the market section are wonderful to see and smell. Make sure that you also take a wander down the cafe and restaurant section as well, as we ate here on both our nights in Vienna and the food was excellent; we had Weiner Schnitzel the first evening... more

Anyone with a passing interest in food should make the Naschmarkt a place to visit in Vienna. In fact make it a point to take a meal there either by sampling at the many stalls or by trying one of many restaurants situated in the market. On Saturdays there is a flea market at the South end of the area.... more
