The eastern portion of the Innerstadt sometimes gets overlooked, but it shouldn't because it contains such finds like the Jesuitenkirche. Lavish Baroque is all you need to know. Over the top, really. Breathtaking. Especially the ceiling, though the last time I was there in December 2008 it was covered up by an enormous poster of the earth taken from space.... more

A wonderful baroque church. View especially the pulpit and the magnificent ceiling which, if you view it on a fine day, appears to have a view out to the sky (with angels of course!). Also, opposite, is a restaurant called INIGO's run by the Jesuits as a social apostolate. It has a pleasant ambience and good, well-priced food. Eat well... more

This church is a perfect example of the baroque style of art that is perfected in most Vienese churches. Going inside this church is truly overwhelming between the ceiling frescos, numerous side chapels, and magnificant alter, you truly feel out of place. In some ways it seems overdone as every inch of the interior of the church has some decoration.... more
