Not as elaborate as many of Vienna's churches, this French gothic church was completed in 1350; the top of the bell tower was damaged during the first Austro-Turkish war; rebuilt; and then destroyed again in the second Austro-Turkish war; apparently acknowledging the the pattern and probability of a repeat, the top was then replaced with a flat roof!
