This is the landmark not to be missed. If you can, get to the top of the tower for the beautiful view of Vienna. The guided toor would be most helpful.

During my stay jun the xmas market in front of the Rathaus was wonderful! I could stay there the entire evening, drinking Glühwein, looking at the people and eating Austrian specialties.
The Christmas Mark in front of the Rathaus building was my favorite attraction in Vienna. The lights, the music, the people, the food and all the decoration were perfect. I strongly recommend it for anyone.
Very nice Christmas market (maybe the biggest one of all) with maybe the most beautiful building of the city in the background. Preferably visit in the afternoon and have a cup of hot red wine with cinnamon.
Really only got yo see the building from the outside but lucky enough to view it late in the afternoon so was able to view it in the light when you could admire the architecture and in the dark when you could see it in its splendour illuminated. A lovely setting and a great place to host the Christmas markets.
At this time of the year, they have xmas market held in front of the building. If the weather was warmer a little, I bet the place would be crowded.
