The Polaria building is interesting from the outside as well as the exhibitions inside. When I was there last time the theme was global warming. They change themas every now and then. The films of Svalbard and the aurora borealis are good.. If you are for animal games the seal show is here but without the glamour like elsewhere. Take... More

I'm fascinated by animals and this was a very interesting sight for me. The arctic marine life is interesting, but I'd have wished for more (more fish, bigger aquariums ...). Don't miss the seal feeding and training. It's fascinating to see how intelligent and agile they are. And cute. A bit weird, though, to go through the museum shop where... More

The exhibitions are well prepared and explained. The seals makes it more fun, and it is really a nice place to go to as it is central and have easy acces. The movie is splendid.

For £15 I probably expected a bit more. You start off by going to watch a short panoramic film and then are free to wander around looking at various fish/sealife. You walk under where the seals are swimming, but the glass was quite dirty and because of the thickness of glass it wasn't that clear to see things. We watched... More

Nothing too special here. A bit on the expensive side for what it is. Seal training/feeding left much to be desired. Other than that, it was 2 short movies and a very small aquarium. Worth doing if you have extra time in Tromso, but I wouldn't go out if my way for it.

A visit to Polaria is worth taking just to see the seals being fed and doing tricks, but there's also a lot more to see.

Feeding the seals and the tanks with sih in them were similar to aquaria anywhere , feeding the seals came with some interesting stories . The films on Spitzbergen and the Northern Lights were interesting .. overall OK but not earthshattering

This is a fun museum and great for kids. The seal show was really good as were the two movies. This is an interesting insight into Arctic life.

We visited Polaria as an excursion from MS Finnmarken (Hurtigruten) which included sightseeing in Tromso. Found it extremely interesting, and loved the seals - especially the ones with unfeasible whiskers :-) The film, showed in 190 degrees about the Arctic Wildlife was worth the visit alone. Wish we could have had a little more time there. If any Hurtigruten passengers... More
