The weather was excellent. We took a taxi to Tryvann and walked and hour or so to Skjennungstua. You are in the woods, but there are perfectly groomed walk paths. Lot´s of people were out running, hiking and cycling. You get a perfect view over Oslo from up there.

Only a half hour by the subway. Scenic routes, great for walking and a great view of the city.

Few cities in the world has the "wild" as close to the city centre as Oslo. Perfect for hiking, fishing, skiing etc.

Imagine taking the subway directly from the city centre, and half an hour later you're stepping out in th woods. That's the Nordmarka spirit in a nutshell. Nordmarka is the name of the forest surrounding the city of Oslo, and the keeper of Oslo's soul. This is where the people of Oslo go to relax, have a hike, run, biking... More

The tourist information office told us the trail from Frogenersetern To Sognsvann was well marked. We took the metro which was easy, but once we got there we could not find any well marked trails. We walked a short way and stumbled upon the Frognersetern restaurant, which is a lovely typical alpine cafe. The place was very busy, no wonder... More
