The small museum is great to visit early in the morning, taking the ferry over. With 3 Viking ships and some artifacts on display it is a sober introduction to Viking history. The building is beautifully simple, an appropriate setting. 60 NOK for adults

This museum holds some of the best kept treasures of Norway's history. What you see here are not models of ships, but the real thing. Some of the most important built in AD 800. Fascinating for any one who is interested in history. But don't expect to make this the pit stop for lunch. It has no restaurant.

Went there along with a friend, who's mother is a famous Viking book writer (Torill Torstad Hauger) so he had too much info to share with me which was great along the ships (one of them looks too amazing still) and great artifacts. I liked the simplicity of the museum and if you're interested in vikings this will be your... More

Viking museum is small but interesting museum with some boats and pieces found in archaeological works from 1960s. If you are in Bygdøy paying a visit to the other maritime museums, it worth to stop and check the collection.

An important part of history on display, and very unique. Worth a trip, but not two, especially if you've been to Roskilde (Denmark) Displays have changed very little in the past 15 years. More in-depth information about the ships and their history, perhaps more colour displays, and conservation of the boats would improve the museum.

This was a great place to visit and very well done. Seeing the three ships and learning about the vikings was very enjoyable. A must see if you are in Oslo.

We found this musuem absolutely fascinating. There are three viking ships, two in excellent (though restored) condition and one less so. There are also plenty of artefacts that were found in them (they were used for burials, which is why they are so well preserved) and also artefacts relating to the time period. Lots of information regarding the vikings and... More

Spent some time here and it was worth it. It is pretty amazing to see these boats, good viewing of them as well. It is a small museum but is a must see.

Very interesting display of not just the beautiful old ships, retrieved from the mud years ago , but also smaller exhibits, cataloguing the life of people at that time.
