It was a great visit - fascinating ski museum with Roald Amundsen's original skis and gear on display. Brand new ski jump with lovely views over Oslo and v nice cafe too.

climbed the stairs! better to do if you are in shape! if not take the elevator, drive. it's really changed over the year and being here again gives such a vantage point over oslo - it's breathtaking! and then imagine flying done the jump (on skis!!) and you now you understand Norsk Pride!

We visited the ski jump on a beautiful sunny day in October so we had amazing views. Getting there was fairly easy -a 30 minute metro journey, plus a 15 minute walk up a quiet road. They have buildt a new ski jump in Holmenkollen for the World Championship in 2011 that is awesome. This is a photo of the old ski jump.

This was a great morning for us. We took the train (metro) to the site and that was half the fun! The views are just stunning. Be warned that there is a walk with hills to the museum and ski jump, but very doable. The museum offered a good insight to the history of skiing and the highlight is certainly...

Local train trip from oslo. Takes about 45 minutes, nice trip with great photo opportunities. Inexpensive. Good half day sightseeing or if skiing, snowboarding would be great day out. Has ski jump simulator attraction, awesome! Musuem to go to as well. Great spot.

The ski jump is huge, felt scared just to look at it. There is a ski simulator wich I didn't try. There is a very nice restaurant there with the best hot chocolate.
