Ra II is impressive and a great start before you witness the amazing Kon-Tiki raft. You have to see it in person to understand the magnitude of Thor Heyerdahl's achievement. Loved the Easter Island artefacts, such an intriguing place, I learned a lot. Finally there is an Oscar statue for the award-winning film documentary. This is the best attraction in Oslo.

imagine how it would be to sail the ocean on a raft and use the model (actual size of the Kon-Tiki) and the photos to fuel your imagination. well done, easy to follow. A great rainy day option

I really did not know much about Thor Heyerdahl or the Kon-Tiki expedition before I visited this musuem, I went because my husband wanted to go! However, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have a new found admiration for the man and his ethos. He was one of the true explorers/adventurers of our time. The exhibition has the Kon-Tiki and... More

I've read about the Kon-TIki when I was like 12 years old. The story behind this float still is fascinating and I was expecting quite a bit, when visiting this museum. It was not bad - but I was a bit disappointed. They show the float and another boat used to cross the Atlantic Ocean to prove a similar case.... More

Really enjoyed seeing the Kon Tiki, and watching the film about it. Read Heyerdahl's book as a kid and it made a lasting impression. As a bonus, there is also the Ra reed boat that one can see. There is info about Heyerdahl and his work as both an environmentalist and a multi-culturalist. The world needs more like him.

Featuring two rafts Ra and Kon-Tiki and some other artifacts from the trips made on those rafts. If you have spare time why not visit this museum.
