Beautifully preserved site of historic Norsk buildings plus excellent indoor displays of cultural interest. There are also activities such as craft demonstrations, horse & carriage rides and dance recitals.

Beautiful old timber buildings from all parts of Norway. Unfortunately the famous Stave Church is being renovated at the moment and isn't visible with the surrounding scaffolding. Well woth a visit.

Went in September, a little off season so it was not very crowded and there was plenty to see. Nice place to have a little lunch there as well. One of the best sights in Oslo.

Been to the Norsk Folkemuseum several times to show it to friends. As magical and beautiful as previous reviews show. Make sure you have enough time, preferebly the whole day, there's loads to see, including expositions!

A rare chance to see a collection of buildings from across Norway - some about a 1000 years old. Only shame is that the Stave church is currently covered with scafold and can't be seen.

put each and every best traditional norwegian house in one place, add the possibility to see how they cook lefsa the old way (and tastes even better) and some other activities over there and makes of this a very entertaining park to visit with children!

We had a lovely time walking around the outside portion of this museum, even though it was raining on us. The farmhouses and other buildings are very well preserved, and the layout does give you a good idea about how a farm community would have existed and functioned. This museum is a must-see when in Oslo. The open-air exhibition of old houses for poor and rich is simply great. The stuff dresses in costumes to match the era. It will take probably at least half a day to go through all the exhibitions. So plan your day ahead.

Able to imagine how Norway wud have been a century or a couple of centuries ago with the wooden houses, horse driven carriages.. a visit to the Folkemuseum would take you to that history.. add to it the history of banking, post and other services which are the backbone of society... that completes Folkemuseum..
