I thought thte presentations of the winners on the rigid electronic stems, the 'wall of knowledge', and the large flat book right out of Harry Potter stories! The dry data is presented in an exciting manner. The highlight for me was the 'way to go' (wayfinding indications) which is by a troll like statue of this years' winner, Marti Ahtisaari.... more

I was excited to visit the Nobel Peace Center as I had read (from CruiseCritics) that it is a must-see. The first exhibit was on the Dream of Europe about teens who wanted to pursue a better life in Europe. That was a temporary exhibit and was quite well done. As you walk around the Peace Center you see short film clips of people, mostly women, who are poor and in dire straits. It is very sad, a real downer. Most of them have AIDS, or live on the street. Not sure what this has to do with peace. Then there is a small movie theater where they show 2-3... more

I looked forward to learning something and being inspirated when I visited the Nobel Peace Prize Center last week to Oslo. The first part of the exhibit was very good, it had huge posters of the current nobel laureates. It was very descriptive, interesting and informative. Sort of went here under sufference (felt I should really). However, spent much more time here than I intended to - there is a good mixture of high-tech exhibits and straight-forward information. It's not an easy place to visit - requires a certain amount of brain power - but it is well worth a visit! more
