Beautiful place in every time of year. Excellent for hiking, cycling and skiing in winter.

You can walk, run or bike around the lake - or just hang out or bbq. Night or day, this place is nice - and very accessible by tram.

Why must every Oslo citizene find a relaxing time on this very spot. Because of the lake? Absolutely to crowded. To many people. There are lots of other places like this in the Oslo area. A rainy wednesday is highly recommended

Sognsvann is a good place for relaxation, recreation or exercise (3 km around the lake). It can be a little bit overcrowded, but that is also something worth seeing. Very typical destination for the inhabitants. Just 20-30 min by the metro(train no. 3), from the city center.

To barbecue here in the summer after a walk round the pond or a jog in the forest is amazing. Also good for skiing in the winter. The subway takes you all the way up.

Here there are trails you can follow and have a nice long walk in the woods. In the winter you can bring your skiis and hot chocolate. You can take the t-bane to this place, brilliant!

The Norwegian School of Sports Sciences is right by the lake, and you'll meet pupils from there, running quickly buy while conversing about everyday topics. It is also a place families go on nice days, to swim in the lake. You get there by the aptly named Sognsvann metro line.

This is probably one of the most ignored attractions (by the tourists). It is a very popular recreational destination for the inhabitants of Oslo. The track around the lake is used as a jogging and walking track during summer and people swim in the lake. During winter this place is used for skiing and its free to use.

The sand beach was quite small and very crowded, we found a more secluded spot on the grass, the water seemed dirty and the bathroom facilities were awful
