The history of Baerums Verk is old, and the original buildings are still intact. Most of the area is for walking only. The are is today a merchant area with small shops and restaurants. It is really cozy.

Just okay ........ We visited in late November 2010. The Christmas Market was just okay, lots of permanent craft shops whith a good selection of higher end goods. We were expecting more I think. Having said that, take the time to visit the Baerums Verk museum - not much more than a couple of rooms full of cast iron stoves...

Baerums Verk is a small town close to Oslo. Probably not worth a visit if you're a foreign tourist, it is nice place to visit if you live in or close to Oslo. Especially beautiful in Christmas time, with its doll-sized houses beautifully decorated and workshops selling nice, handmade gifts. For more details about Baerums Verk, and also photos taken...
