The place to but your Bergen Card and change money as well as make booings and for general enquitries. however, they are not up to date on openeuing times for attractions.
I don't feel that we got unbiased reviews or suggestions - certain fjord trips were defiantly pushed but all in all had to go with our gut feeling to book anything but they were very informative.
Easy to find and open late. It is always busy but has a fair queuing system and is organised. Large displays to look at and children will enjoy the novelty of the building and displays. Information office was very busy. You have to collect your ticket and wait. The staff seems to be experienced, willing to advice and or book your trip, transport or hotel. If you want to buy postcard buy yours at the bookstore at the bottom corner on the main square. They are much nicer.

The reception are really friendly and allowed us some time to think and re plan our trip when we were planning to buy the tickets for norway in a nutshell. The place is pretty and even have free wifi! THUMBS UP!
It was just a lot of leaflets - I could get the same Bergen related ones from most hotels/museums in Bergen. They did have info for things further afield from Bergen if you needed it though.
