Managing the hike alone is a good exercise any day you choose to embark on that journey. The view from top is just breathtaking. Be prepared for a long hike, start early so you are back before darkness, take some snacks with you and warm clothes would help. The Kjeragbolten itself is a rock wedged between two other rocks above... More

4 hrs hike, beautiful in its own right even if you don't dare stand on the boulder

One of the great stops on our camper holiday in Norway and Free :-) We rented our motorhome threw http://bobilportal.no which rents out private motor homes. Toke about 1 and ahalf hours to drive up from Stavanger. Parked and overnighted in the car park and walked up in the morning to prekistolen. The kids had no trouble and a nice... More

Kjerag or kjeragbolten is a rock blocked between two other rocks with a precipice of over 1.000 metres. It takes like 2 hours to arrive there (even they say it's 3hs, we took less walking relaxly). When you arrive there and you see the rock you are willing to step and to put yourself over that rock. A nice place... More

This was the most rewarding hike I made in this area of Norway. Go prepared for wind, change of weather, and proper footwear. The boulder is an obvious destination, but don't miss the base jumping area to the NW. Get a cabin in Fidjeland or near Sirdal to minimize the drive to/from. As an average American who considers himself 'in... More

A slightly longer walk than its neighbour Pulprits rock, but not as heavy going, in the vertical sense. Some wonderful views of the fjords along the way, and on a sunny day, it can be a beautiful full days trip.

This is the best hiking tour in Lysefjord. But this tour is not for people with deconditioning. It`s a great 6 hours trip.

Great nature. Tne rock between the mountains seems to be able to fall down every minute. But it never does.

Well standing on the kjerag is! This is a great walk but you need a decent level of fitness. It's about 3 hours each way and the first half is very steep. The views are worth it though. Don't go if the weather is bad as you want to be able to see and it will be very slippery.
