A friend and I took a little over a week driving in a car from Oslo, towards Bergen and to end the trip, we decided to go to Preikestolen. I think it is one of my favourite spots in the world. The hike was great, but a bit strenuous. I guess not for the Norweigans but for me an American, yea, it was tough. (and I work out regularly and run marathons).Totally worth it though. The view is spectacular. And you can get right up to the edge. If you are thinking about seeing Preikenstolen, you should do the hike over... more

This is one of the best hikes I have ever been on. I lived in Stavanger for 18 months and went on this hike at least six times. Each time was truly spectacular. The hike is moderate - easy for a hiker, strenuous for a non-hiker. It takes an average hiker about 90 minutes to get to the rock. Preikestolen... more
