Have taken my grandchildren of varying ages to the museum and they have all loved it, especially the Lion and Bear
Great museum with good facilities and its doesn't cost a penny...been more than a few times and its always worth a future visit
Having visited this museum many many times as a child, teenager and now amiddle aged adult, I feel there has been too much alteration completed on the overall museum.
It just doesn't have the same feel to it anymore. Others may say that it needed the change but too much has been removed to make way for what seems 'new'...

Been a while since my last visit but never had a bad one yet. Always something different and plenty to keep kids amused, park is just outside so you can picnic on a nice day, some of my happiest childhood days out spent here, and for free! Wonder if the lions still there?
Built in 1793 for the Walker family, local industrialists who supplied cannons for HMS Victory, the former Clifton House is Grade II* listed and retains most of its original architectural features - including some nice Derbyshire marble fireplaces.

Small and intimate little cafe which is run by staff and learning disability volunteers. Well worth patronising, the scones and cakes are fabulous
If you are visiting the park then its worth walking up to the museum, it is only small but ok to pass a bit of time on with the kids.
Quite interesting worth a look but quite small, half an hour at best to get around it
