Our visit was a real let down and essentially a waste of good time. Very nice building and plenty of staff hanging around doing nothing. This place is awful - pitched as an 'art gallery' it mostly lends itself to hiring space. Thoroughly disappointed as they are not using the gallery spaces enough. Only worth going in if it is raining and you're waiting for a bus!!

More rubbish (literally) masquerading as 'art'. A mixed bag in some ways but very much worth a visit. The building is quite beautiful and very striking architectually. However, it doesn't seem to be the best space to display art and it's hard to fill. The opening exhibition is hit and miss, but has something of interest for everyone.

We visited (myself, my partner and mother-in-law) at the weekend as we are moving to the area next year. Th building itself in stunning, with such lovely design and colour. A very striking and interesting piece of modern arcitecture worth seeing in its own right - although in my view it's in the wrong location and quite unsuited to its historical location. Inside, the practicality of the building has probably suffered a great deal to meet the needs of the architect's ego when designing the external shape. The real test... More

What a lovely place. Amazingly interested staff, Art by very well known and modern artists (Grayson Perry - Ai Wei Wei ) and the restoration of a mosaic. One against another. Just visit.

What a tragedy - a gallery that can't fit in any art, more space given to a cloakroom than to exhibition spaces.
