- MrsWYN-RNorth Yorkshire, United Kingdom3,025 contributionsVery Good VenueFirst time at the Scarborough Spa theatre, came to see comedians and the Comedy Store. Very elegant building and the theatre was at the very top of the building and reached by stairs. Small bar outside the main room prices reasonable for a venue and a night out. The theatre is well maintained, views of the stage were good and the sound was excellent. Good night out.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 July 2023

- Ady1Hu County, China17 contributionsEncore show at Scarborough SpaWe went to see 'Encore' on a rainy Saturday night in August. Unfortunately there was only about 70 people in the audience, but wow, they/we were given a treat. We see loads of East End shows in London and this would be great there. It's lively and has superb dancing and singing. The cast are beautiful and the music was fantastic. Anyone would enjoy this show and only a small knowledge of musical shows is required for you to appreciate their renditions. The only problem is that the show was not well enough afvertised, which was why, in our opinion, it was so poorly attended. I hope this was a one off and the show is viable, as its fantastic. Well done to all those involved.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 5 August 2023
- Alex NScarborough, United Kingdom16 contributionsOur weddingWe booked The Suncourt at The Spa for our wedding. Best decision ever, Naomi our wedding planner pulled together our dream day and night. The staff including servers, bar staff, DJ were efficient, courteous and helpful beyond their usual roles. The food was of a very high quality and cooked beautifully. If you're pondering your wedding venue, you can book The Spa with no worries at all. They made it the perfect day. Cannot compliment them enough.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 August 2023
- DoodleScarbroughNorth Yorkshire, United Kingdom66 contributionsEncore show at Scarborough SpaThis show is unmissable. Absolutely brilliant. West End quality on our doorstep. The small cast of incredibly talented singers and dancers kept me entertained from start to finish. The show is divided into short genres including ABBA, Carole E King, Elvis and the 20s. The homage to Phantom of the Opera was just beautiful. What a shame this show has been better advertised as it deserves a full house and a standing ovation night after night. I hope this incredible team will be putting on future shows at the Spa.Visited August 2023Travelled soloWritten 30 August 2023
- MrsmandymillerYorkshire, United Kingdom13 contributionsWho wouldn’t want to say ‘I do’ with that view!We renewed our vows at the same place we were married. I can honestly say it was a day to remember, the staff were amazing considering the stop start rain and did everything in their power to make the ceremony happen outside as we did 20 years ago. Such a beautiful venue.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 September 2023

However the event staff are very poor and not well organised in crowd control to a point I was very concerned about a fire risk. The bar also is very expensive. Would not rush back to visit this placeVisited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 October 2023

We have visited Scarborough at various times for a few years and you can guarantee that every time we are here, there is nothing on at the spa, let alone anything that we may want to see. It is a travesty that the spa orchestra pack up so early, with weeks of the season remaining. There would still be a reasonable demand for them, given that there is nothing else to do in the perpetual rain. I suppose it is a testament to the building, that it is still standing, given the incessant pounding it receives from the turgid waves, as they crash and boom against the sea wall, sending spumes of spray everywhere. It is a great place to sit and watch this spectacle and you can feel the whole place quiver with each boom. Some people find it an ideal way of having a quick shower. Others think it is a good place to test out the anti-corrosion capabilities of their vehicles. Beyond that, there is little else positive to say. Certainly not the precipitous parking charges.

We had tickets to see Paul Carrack 20th October, the day of the storm. We checked with the venue that the gig was going ahead, and drove 2hrs to Scarborough. The venue cancelled the gig 4hrs before the performance, at 3.30pm.
One, the weather forecast had not changed since 9am, it stayed exactly the same so what they knew at 3.30pm, they knew at 9am.
Two, the venue blames the council for making them cancel the gig on H&S grounds! Why could not they put their big boy pants on and make a decision in the interests of customers?!
Three, why is a venue taking bookings for acts when a storm can bring a high tide and cancel? That cannot happen at the York or Sheffield venues, which of course, is where I should have booked my tickets. I just had no idea that the Spa can’t cope with a storm! £40 in petrol and £90 in accommodation wasted.
Never again.

Give it a miss. Horrible seating choices for accessibility. Definitely not worth the ticket price for the facilities. Dirty toilets and venue.

The energy, talent and professionalism from start to finish was of the highest order.I think the show deserves to be promoted more than it is as it is an uplifting experience well worth seeing. We would certainly go back and see it again.Great.

Hi I’m going to book for Shawaddywaddy in august I not the stalls aren’t tiered would I get a better view from the balcony’s at the side or the circle.

Looking at images of the seating, the rear section of the stalls appear to be tiered, so should give a reasonable view. The circle should also be good but is on the small side.

Hello we are thinking of buying tickets for the Don Quixote performance but have reservations as when we saw the Nutcracker a few years ago you could not see the feet of the dancers because the seats were not tiered. We moved to the balcony in the hope the view would improve but pillars got in the way! I wondered if this problem has now been resolved as there really is no point in paying £30 to see ballet dancers if you do not get the full picture!!

Hello,
Sorry, can't remember row numbers. As I recall, all seats are situated one row higher than the one below. We sat in the second tier and had a good clear view. I expect it is even better in the front tier
