Make sure you allow at least four hours for your visit. Thirty nine different gardens to see and admire! We found a notebook and pencil very useful as the majority of plants are labelled. Excellent tearooms on site.

There isn't so much colour to see in the spring though there were good displays of daffodils and other spring flowers.
If you're interested in getting ideas for your garden, this is a good place to come with the many different kinds of gardens to look at, all on the smallish scale, most if not all the results of Geoff...

We travelled from Nottingham with an expectation that Barnsdale would provide some much needed inspiration for our own garden design. Unfortunately, the touted 8 acre site and 33 gardens is more than a little misleading. In truth the gardens cover approximately 1 acre, and the 33 garden quota appeared to include the transitions between the poorly maintained garden plots.

Nice little cafe. The gardens, laid out in 'bite size' sections, will give you lots of design and planting ideas. There's also a well stocked plant nursery too. Helpful, pleasant staff throughout.
There's always plenty to see and ideas to gather from Geoff Hamilton's gardens. A cream tea on a sunny afternoon is also a good reason to visit. I've bought several unusual plants from the nursery, too.
Loads to see, different "gardens included all over the place as it was the Gardeners' World location for many years. Good cafe, and large plant sale area
You can visit any time of the year and it looks wonderful Any garen can look good in Summer but on a foggy, frosty day it is mysterious and beautiful (Textures and coloured bark). Lots of good ideas for your own garden as well.
I loved everything about this place. I acquired so much information about planting and colour and just enjoyed my surroundings. It was heaven.
Excellent gardens, well worth the visit, but..... Tearooms/ cafe needs a good shakeup. Coffee machine went wrong several times,(resulting in long wait) food expensive and not very appealing. Worst of all, quite expensive pre-packed sandwiches were wet and soggy upon opening. When brought to attention of staff (estimated age about 16), only got blank looks!!
