We took 16 tours on our recent visit to Scotland and this was hands-down one of the best. Do the high end tour and they take you to a private room and best older stock - and the new 25yo. Beautiful place, great people, fantastic whisky - a must do!
A visit to Highland Park Distillery is sure to please both history buffs and whisky lovers. The guided tour easily blends both ... explaining how this distillery has managed to make a World Class scotch. The tasting after the tour was equally enjoyable. The gift shop provided an unique collection of souvenirs and memorabilia.
This was the first distillery I had visited that still had it's own maltings - wonderful and fascinating. The information on how whisky was stored and for how long was really good and our guide was very knowledgeable
A rare treat - my favourite whiskey and well-informed, good-humoured guiding around the site. We had such an interesting trip!
The tour of the distillery is brilliant! They manage to walk you around, explaining as they go and then let you taste a sample, all with the feeling that you can take as long as you need as no-one in Orkney ever rushes you along... Something to add to the list - especially if you are looking for somewhere to...

I have never been on a distillery tour before and so have nothing to compare it to. I enjoyed my visit and learnt something new about whisky. The lady who took us around was clearly very passionate about her job and whiskey, so much so that she even convinced me to try some.
I would recommend this to anyone who...

I quite enjoyed the tour - it was...

Or perhaps not...
They claim to be the best, and, having won medals in the past, I will not argue that some people believe it. However, if their tours or their attitudes are anything to go by, I would be happy to avoid the stuff at all costs.

we were staying close by and had to return the following day as a cruise ship was in port and all tours booked. Tour was interesting , seeing peat burning and malt turning is unusual, but some others have been free. Worth a visit but lacking in the showmanship of Glenfarclas or Glenlivet. Perhaps I have done too many tours.
