Interesting design, opens like a giant jaw to let boats through

Architecture, culture and views. A nice walk along Gateshead Quayside with more on the Newcastle side

We parked next to the baltic and walked along the quayside taking in the sage, the baltic, the millenium and tyne bridges before calling in one of many of the family friendly bars for something to eat. A very pleasent experience.

This is a fantastic bridge design and it really adds something special to what must be one on the best river views anywhere in the world.

This must be seen and walked across to truly appreciate not only the design but the views of the quayside. The bridge opens to allow ships to pass it definitely has the wow factor.

First time viewed up close at night. Lighting is great. Also saw it swing. Good engineering although wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.

A split walking and biking pedestrian bridge definitely worth a visit. Try to get there when it opens it's a sight to behold.
