This is a must-see for anyone remotely interested in architecture or engineering. The bridge tilts at 12 o'clock noon every day, but also at other times. Apparently the only way to know is to check the signs beside the bridge. more

This ultra modern bridge is the newest, and most interesting between Newcastle and Gateshead over the Tyne River in an area that is known for its bridges. It has a modern, arch shape and moves up at regular intervals. The bridge is only a pedestrian bridge. It is a sight to see, especially when it moves. more

If you visit the north east of England, Tyne and Wear, Newcastle or Gateshead you must visit the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. It is the newest of Newcastle's 7 bridges over the River Tyne and links the up and coming areas of riverside in Newcastle (to the north) and Gateshead.
