Great building, fantastic fortification, pitty it has been given over to house students from the university.
Great tours by the students, and lovely historical atmosphere around the castle, palace green and the cathedral. Make sure you see the amazing underground Norman chapel.
Growing up in Durham you sometime forget how nice this place really is absolutely stunning

if you're up near the Cathedral, then you should definitely take a look around the Castle grounds, very nice
