Very impressed by the displays and the artifacts, though some where being updated and new displays about to be exhibited, if you get the chance visit.

thought it very cheap to visit and there seemed to be lots of activities going on thoughout the year.
This tiny gallery was stuffed with interesting items from Egypt, Islam, China and Japan. Airy modern galleries with good explanatory notes. Very clean loos!
Everything laid out well with information about each article.Difficult not to spend too much time in one section.
Abit of a walk out of the town centre but there is a bus route. In the university residential area. Main line is of course oriental art, mainly pottery, but there is an excellentmediun sized and recently revamped Egyptian section.
We looked for this after the reviews on here and have to say we were not dissapointed! Fantastic afternoon out and very informative!
well worth a look.allow a couple of hours to do it justice, found staff very friendly and cheerful despite supporting sunderland(only kidding)
Part of Durham University this is a very bright and spacious museum with some wonderful items - well worth a visit.
Unexpectedly good. Worth trying to fit into your Durham trip. Set on the Durham University Campus it has a tremendous display of eastern artifacts.
This museum was originally part of the University departments own collection. But now has been re curated, re-narrating the history of the 'East' beyond the Orientalist lens of the title. Great work. A modest cafe included too!
