Visited after visiting Pembroke castle on the same day. This one smaller but more 'do-able' I think. kids loved it. More areas unaccesable than Pembroke Castle but still lots to see. Carew Castle is a beautiful historic building and well worth a visit. After you have been inside take a walk around the outside too as it is lovely seen from the other side of the water.

Location, tranquility, size, accessibility - we were glad not to have missed the chance to visit

A lovely castle ruin with interesting, people powered wind-up "talkie" introductions and sound effects. A delightful tourist shop to top it off. Beautiful surroundings with the "tidal" lake.

Love tea room on bridge when visit1ed last if it is still there? If Carew Inn is still there, was a great local pub

Carew Castle is must to visit; the castle ruins are extensive and fascinating to explore; there is a loverly walk around the tidal river to the mill which is an easy gradient; ice creams and tea are often available at the adjoining cottage where you can sit and stunning the beautiful tidal river

Our favorite place to visit , we have been here 5 times and still get blown away by it.

I got to the main entrance at 3:45pm and was told that I would need 2 hours to do the mill and castle justice and that they close at 5pm (from Easter Sunday to autumn), but that we would be able to come back to see the mill over the next week (at their discretion). We went in thinking we... More

My partner felt it was haunted! Not much of the Castle left and was more of a fortified manor house, but worth a visit
