We visited Silent World Aquarium in August 09. There are many varieties of fish, snakes, reptiles etc. The seahorses in particular, were a delight. The staff were extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable. The animals were well cared for. Although, there is not much room here, every bit is packed full of interesting features. There is a fantastic play section for... more

Visited on 13.08.09(a sunny day) Long walk to get there. Children aged 5 and 8. It cost £15 for a family ticket we stayed about 30 minutes.Surprised by a number of safety issues in this place. Disabled access is very poor. Lack of toilets. They let you use the staff toilet. I feel sorry for the staff if this is... more

We went on a rainy day as it was rated as a rainy day activity, it is positioned in a old church up a steep slope (not for buggies or people who don’t like walking) the tickets cost £22 for a family 2 adults 2 children and was worth about £10 max as you can walk round in 15 minutes,... more

Based in an old church, this makes an ideal visit on a wet day. There was a good selection of fish from local waters and loads of baby fish at the time of our visit. The seahorses were very good. It was a shame they seem to be having problems with their garden pond display as there was an overabundance... more

I visited Silent World with another family, in total four children and four adults. The children aged between 2 and 6, and despite there being steps to stand on most of the displays were at adult height so that even the 6 year old struggled to see into each glass cabinet. The result was that the adults were constantly lifting... more

This tiny converted church houses an astonishing array of fish, amphibians, reptiles and insects. Staff are incrediby enthusiastic and obviously passionate about the collection. The leaf-cutter ant farm, with its see-though tube trailing across the ceiling is amazing to watch. I was also lucky enough to visit while they were spraying all the reptile houses and handling the chameleons. The... more

NB - all three of my family are fully mobile on two feet. The Tenby Aquarium, aka Silent World, was one of the highlights of our trip to West Wales this year and the year before. The aquarium is in a small converted church, and fits in a huge range of (smaller) marine creatures, on the ground floor, and on... more

We went to visit today 11th August 2006 and were utterly disappointed with our experience. We travelled from Llanelli taking little over an hour to get there, but were very dissapoined with what greeted us. (I should point out that we weren't expecting a "Sea-Life centre!"). First of all, we had to park about half a mile away from the... more

The aquarium is set inside a redundant Victorian church, adjacent to the town cemetery and with its own fascinating burial ground - which is covered in the white flowers of wild garlic in the spring. Look for the grave of the founder of the British free press and the local estate agency - Frank B Mason. The views across to... more
