Excellent visit, well laid out in a easy to follow time line. Good supportive 10 minute film. The visitor centre offers shelter on those typical British summer weather days. The actual information is pitched well for all ages and concentration levels. The £6 entrance fee is very reasonable. There is some interactive stuff for kids inside such as dressing up,... More

The battlefield is interesting - fabulous view of Stirling Castle - and there is Robert the Bruce on his horse.....not much to hover over unless you have a guide. However, the Heritage Centre has an interesting display although about £6 to get in (National Trust). Loved the fact that you could try on the armour - wow! How they fought... More

As no-one knows the exact location of the battle, a heritage centre has been plunked down randomly. It has an entrance fee of £6 which seems steep for what you get, two pretty empty rooms and a 10-min short film. The film, however short, is quite good though, although ancient!

Full of fantastic information and items that really bring the 1314 battle to life...building being demolished soon so it can be rebuilt.

We weren't really expecting that much from the Bannockburn Heritage Centre because it doesn't look very big - we were wrong! The building is a bit of a tardis and I couldn't believe how much room there was inside and how big the exhibit was. There is also a nice gift shop and self service coffee shop with nice Scottish... We went along and went round the centre - there is not much there but there is a good wee film, some facts on the walls and you get to dress up in chain mail what more can you need! The staff were lovely and helpful and keen to offer information - and an Easter Egg fro my daughter!

The actual monument and vista are impressive, but the visitor centre is very jaded and needs to be brought fully upto date---it is set in the 80'S I understand it is to be demolished and rebuilt next year.It will then have the potential to be a major attraction and benefit the business's surrounding it.
