What a wonderful place to stay. The Castle is 500 years old and you can feel every day of history there. I actually visited the castle last October with my family and I must say the grounds are beautiful! We went on a really sunny day and walked around the gardens etc (there were a few peacocks walking around too and a massive tree standing since the 15th century which was also lovely!) The experience is awe inspiring. You actually feel that you have stepped into the 16th century. Not only that but you are the Bard, the Baron, the Lord of the castle. Although the accomodations arn't twenty-first century convenience you shouldn't expect that. It's the very, very best of the 16th. Of course there are the necessities we just couldn't live... more
